Stoke Bishop Open Gardens

Stoke Bishop Open Gardens

Stoke Bishop Open Gardens took place on 2 July 2017.  Stoke Lodge was our 'hub' this year for the trail which included seven private gardens and the tree trail in Stoke Lodge parkland plus tea and home made cakes at Stoke Lodge.

Thank you to well over 400 people who turned out on a beautiful sunny summer afternoon to support the event, which raised £2,352 for local charities.  The majority this year went towards the new sensory garden at Stoke Lodge; other local charitable causes benefiting were the Kewstoke Road scout community centre appeal, Stoke Bishop Hanging Baskets fund and the University of Bristol Botanic Garden.  This brings the total that the Open Gardens have raised for local charities over the last 5 years to a magnificent £9,350.

Thank you also to:

    the garden owners who shared their lovely gardens;

     the volunteers, without whose help this event simply couldn't happen;

     Aimee's Wine House, Stoke Hill for selling passports;

     Stoke Bishop primary school for allowing access to the school grounds

We are planning our 6th Stoke Bishop Open Gardens on Sunday 1 July 2018 around the  Sneyd Park area.  We would especially welcome more offers of gardens to feature in that part of Stoke Bishop but are always pleased to hear from anyone who is interested in getting involved in the future. Do get in touch for a chat with no obligation.
